Ridon Reacts to Eddie Villanueva’s Viral Sermon
TERRY RIDON – The Bicol Saro Party-list Representative responded to CIBAC Party-list Representative Eddie Villanueva’s remarks made during a recent church preaching, where Villanueva appeared to take a swipe at him.
On Saturday, September 27, Ridon shared a video clip of Villanueva’s sermon on his Facebook page. In the video, the faces of Ridon and Brice Hernandez, a former Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) engineer under investigation, were shown on screen as Villanueva delivered a pointed message.
Villanueva said, “’Yan, ‘yan! Nagkamali ka bata. Baka akala mo makakatakas ka sa sumpa ng Diyos? Pasalamat ka na-born again si Bro. Eddie.” His statement was widely seen as a direct attack on Ridon and Hernandez. Ridon responded with a sharp caption alongside the video: “I mean baka makulong talaga si Sen. Joel brother Eddie kahit isumpa mo pa ako.”

In the comment section of his post, Ridon further explained that Hernandez is not the only witness linking Senator Joel Villanueva to the alleged corruption in DPWH flood control projects. He pointed out that Henry Alcantara, Hernandez’s former boss, also mentioned the senator during his sworn testimony before the Senate.

“Mahalagang balikan ang sworn affidavit at testimonya ni Henry Alcantara para malaman na hindi lamang si Brice Hernandez ang nagdadawit kay Sen. Villanueva sa flood control corruption,” Ridon said.
During a Senate hearing, Hernandez openly accused several high-ranking officials of receiving kickbacks from government-funded flood mitigation projects. Jinggoy Estrada, Sen. Joel Villanueva, Usec. Robert Bernardo at district engineer Henry Alcantara.”
