Statement of Malacañang on Dutertes’ Recent Remarks over PH Flood Control Projects Issue
Malacañang reacted to the recent comments of the Duterte family on the flood control projects issue in the Philippines.
All four (4) children of former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte are in The Hague, Netherlands amid the heat of the flood control projects issue in the Philippines. For the first time, all four (4) Duterte siblings were allowed by the International Criminal Court to visit their father inside the ICC detention facility. After their visit, they granted interviews outside the detention center.

Vice Mayor Sara Duterte and acting Davao Mayor Baste Duterte were asked about the flood control projects issue in the Philippines. However, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte refused to give a free advice in solving the flood control projects issue in the country. According to her, she will just watch their “circus” and “zarzuela”.

Furthermore, the Vice President also expressed her suggestion that the Marcos administration should allegedly follow what she does which is explore the world. According to her, the overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) in the different countries abroad are the “best consultants” on what is doable in the Philippines as they are the ones who see things in other nations.
As for acting Davao Mayor Baste Duterte, he believes that the flood control projects issue is allegedly used as a “publicity stunt”. He also claimed that Davao City allegedly has its own flood control plan but the local budget is not enough for it.

Amid the issue over “ghost” and substandard flood control projects in the country, based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Department of Public Works and Highways or DPWH chief Manuel Bonoan resigned from his position. Previously, Malacañang stressed that Marcos Jr.’s trust and confidence on Bonoan remains. The President has accepted his resignation.

Following the remarks of the Duterte family on the flood control projects issue in the Philippines, Malacañang aired its reaction to the said comments. According to Palace press officer undersecretary Claire Castro, the said remarks are allegedly not helping the country.
“Mga ganitong komento mula sa kanila pero wala naman suhestiyong ibinibigay sa pagresolba sa problema ay hindi nakakatulong sa bayan,” the Malacañang press official said.
According to Castro, the Duterte family can help the country by telling the public about the flood control projects under the administration of their patriarch, former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte. The Malacañang official stressed that the President is open to “meaningful” suggestions from the Duterte family.
“Ang maaari nilang maitulong sana ay ipaalam sa mamamayan ang 13,917 na flood control projects ng nakaraang administrayon para malaman ng lahat kung existing, operational, effective ba ito sa problema sa baha at kung nararamdaman ba natin ang mga proyektong ito ngayon at noong mga nakaraang taon,” Castro expressed.
On the Vice President refusing to give a free advice, Malacañang previously said that Vice Pres. Sara Duterte should give her free flood solutions to her brother, acting Davao Mayor Baste Duterte.
