Love Wins: KaladKaren Celebrates Anniversary & Silences ‘Rebranding’ Criticism
KALADKAREN – Television personality and news anchor KaladKaren proved she’s not backing down from online critics after a netizen accused her of “rebranding” in a post celebrating her wedding anniversary.
Jervi Wrightson, more popularly known as “KaladKaren,” addressed online speculation that she was rebranding her image after sharing a heartfelt wedding anniversary post. On Tuesday, September 9, the Frontline Pilipinas anchor posted a message on X (formerly Twitter) marking a personal milestone with her husband, Luke Wrightson.
“One year as Mr. [and] Mrs. Wrightson and thirteen years of love and life together! Our wedding in the clouds still feels like a dream,” Jervi wrote, followed by, “Cheers to deep and enduring love! Because, in the end, love always wins.”

The post celebrated the couple’s first wedding anniversary, a year after they exchanged vows in the United Kingdom in September 2024. Their ceremony, which took place after 12 years of being together, was widely celebrated by fans and recognized as a source of inspiration for the LGBTQ+ community, as Jervi is a proud transwoman.
However, her choice to refer to herself as “Mrs. Wrightson” in the post caught the attention of one social media user, who claimed she was distancing herself from her widely recognized persona. The netizen remarked, “Pangit ng rebranding mo, te. Stick ka [na lang] as KaladKaren.”
Jervi quickly dismissed the assumption, firing back with a witty response: “Rebranding where? Wedding anniversary post ‘yan! Wag kang mamarunong at mas pangit ka, for sure.”
The exchange highlighted how easily personal expressions on social media can be misinterpreted by some audiences. For Jervi, the post was simply a celebration of love and commitment, not an attempt to shift her public image.

Rebranding, in general, refers to the process of changing or updating how a person, product, or service is presented to the public. Yet, despite the assumption, Jervi remains closely associated with her screen name “KaladKaren,” a persona that gained prominence after her viral impersonations of respected journalist Karen Davila.
For many of her fans, Jervi’s candid reply was a reminder that while she may be a public figure, her personal milestones deserve recognition without unnecessary judgment.
