JANELLA SALVADOR – The Kapamilya actress expressed her frustration over hurtful comments she has been seeing online, particularly from some members of the LGBTQIA+ community.
On September 17, 2025, Janella shared a post on X (formerly Twitter), calling out homophobic and lesbophobic remarks. Homophobia refers to fear, hatred, or discrimination against LGBTQIA+ individuals, while lesbophobia specifically targets women who are romantically attracted to other women.
In her post, Janella Salvador emphasized the importance of sharing opinions and criticisms respectfully, without resorting to hurtful or offensive remarks. She also called out those who support or laugh at discriminatory jokes, urging people to be more mindful and respectful in their words and actions.
Although she did not mention anyone by name, many netizens believe Janella’s statement was aimed at bashers targeting her and Kapuso actress Klea Pineda. This speculation arose after rumors linked Janella and Klea, especially following Klea’s breakup with her girlfriend, Katrice Kierulf, which she confirmed on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda last July 18. Klea explained that their three-year relationship ended because they could no longer help each other grow.
Fans began noticing Janella and Klea’s closeness after working together on the film Open Endings, where they were often seen bonding both on and off set. They were even spotted dining together and attending the GMA Gala 2025 side by side, further fueling speculation.
In a separate interview, Janella firmly denied having any involvement in Klea and Katrice’s breakup, making it clear that she was not a third party in their relationship.
Klea, on the other hand, gave a lighthearted but indirect response about her relationship with Janella, saying that what people see online speaks for itself. She also clarified that there was no third party involved and explained that their closeness naturally developed while working on the film with their co-stars. Klea urged the public to stop blaming Janella and to move past the rumors.
