Davao City protesters feasted on a crocodile lechon as well as a crocodile-shaped cake during the “Trillion Peso March” against corruption in the Philippines.

Countless Filipinos joined the protest actions that were held in the different areas across the nation for the “Trillion Peso March” against corruption that was held on September 21. Ahead of it, President Bongbong Marcos said he might join the street protests if he was not the president. The protest actions were set amid the flood control mess in the country.

Malacañang previously stressed that Marcos Jr. is not worried over the protest actions against corruption. According to Palace press officer undersecretary Claire Castro, it is “normal”. The rally was set amid several officials of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) as well as the government were linked to the issue.

During a Senate flood probe, controversial contractors Curlee and Sarah Discaya presented a joint affidavit wherein they made accusations that some government and DPWH officials are allegedly receiving kickback from the flood control deals. According to them, they supposedly had no choice but to ride on the alleged “system”.

The Discaya couple named the government and the DPWH officials who allegedly received kickback from the government flood control deals. They accused then-House Speaker and Leyte Congressman Martin Romualdez, Quezon City Cong. Arjo Atayde, Pasig Cong. Roman Romulo, Marikina Cong. Marcy Teodoro, and Ako Bicol Partylist Rep. Zaldy Co of allegedly receiving kickback from the flood control projects.

The flood control mess in the country now has triggered countless Filipinos to demand accountability from the officials accused in the issue. The “Trillion Peso March” protest was set. Amid the conduct of protest actions, the Davao City protesters feasted on a crocodile lechon.

Based on a report on PhilStar, the crocodile lechon that was prepared for the Davao City protesters was given by the Davao Crocodile Park. According to Vice Pres. Sara Duterte, the park’s management called her and informed her that they are giving one (1) roasted crocodile for the rallyists.

Aside from the said crocodile lechon, the Davao City protesters also feasted on a crocodile-shaped cake that was given by a friend of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte. The protest actions in the city were held in the Rizal Park or now named the San Pedro Square.

Based on the report, aside from the crocodile lechon and the crocodile-shaped cake, the Davao City protesters also feasted on 100 roasted cows on the day that marked the declaration of Martial Law in the Philippines by the late former Pres. Ferdinand Marcos Sr., the father of the current President. Amid the protest actions, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte is in Tokyo for scheduled meetings with the Filipino communities there.

Amid the corruption issue in the Philippines now, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte lamented not being part of the big decisions concerning the country. The deep rift between her and Pres. Bongbong Marcos is no secret to the Filipino people.
