Sen. Bong Go Speaks on Services Offered by Vice Pres. Sara Duterte’s Office
BONG GO – The Senator wants to give some of the budget of his office to the office of Vice President Sara Duterte to support her to be a “working vice president”.
The Senate and the House of Representatives are currently deliberating the budget proposals of the different offices of the government. Today is the scheduled budget hearing for the proposal of the Office of the Vice President (OVP) amounting to P902.895 million for 2026.

Vice Pres. Sara Duterte attended the Senate OVP budget hearing. The senators agreed to extend parliamentary courtesy to the OVP which was a motion introduced by Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel “Migz” Zubiri. It was seconded by Sen. Bato dela Rosa. After no objection was made, Senate finance committee chairman Sherwin Gatchalian approved the motion.

Based on a post of News5, at the budget hearing of the OVP, Sen. Bong Go offered if some budget of his office can be given to the office of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte. He called for support for Duterte to be “a working vice president”.
“Kung allowed po ito, bawasan po ang budget ko sa opisina sa Senado kahit konti. Ilagay lang po sa OVP,” the Senator said.

Based on the post, at the budget hearing of the proposed fund of the OVP, Sen. Bong Go claimed that he sees that there are allegedly long lines of people at the satellite offices of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte’s office asking for the services that her office provides. He called for support to the OVP.
“Nakikita ko po ‘yan mahaba po ang pila sa kanyang mag satellite office. We must further empower and help VP’s office to respond to the needs of the Filipino people especially the marginalized sector,” Sen. Bong Go said.

The P902.895 million budget sought by the OVP for 2025 does not include confidential and intelligence funds. Vice Pres. Sara Duterte remains to be questioned over the previous CIF spending of her office as well as the CIF of the Department of Education when she was the DepEd secretary.
According to Vice Pres. Sara Duterte, she expected budget cuts from the proposed fund of the OVP for 2026 citing that she is not ally of the current administration. She stressed that the President and the House Speaker are still the same people.
Duterte previously claimed that she did not opt to seek for a bigger budget for 2026 as she does not expect for it to be granted since she is not an ally of the admin. Duterte’s office previously said that it is ready to serve Filipinos in the country as well as abroad despite their “limitations in capacity and budget”.
