Sen. Imee Marcos Suggests To House Members To Replace Speaker Martin Romualdez

IMEE MARCOS – The Senator proposed the ouster of House Speaker Martin Romualdez instead of impeaching Vice President Sara Duterte.

In the Senate, Sen. Marcos is one of the members of the so-called Duterte bloc. She sided with the Duterte family in the controversial arrest and the transfer of custody of former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte to the International Criminal Court in The Hague, Netherlands.

The Filipino populace witnessed a strong ties between her and Vice Pres. Sara Duterte. She is also one of those who want the impeachment case against the Vice President dropped.

Sen. Imee Marcos voted in favor of archiving the impeachment case against Vice Pres. Sara Duterte. During her speech, the Presidential Sister called on the members of the House of Representatives not to tolerate a “spoiled bonjing” — seemingly referring to her own cousin, House Speaker Martin Romualdez.

“Mag move on na tayo. Magtrabaho at huwag kunsintihin ang isang spoiled na bonjing. Huwag nang busogin ng pabor. Huwag ng pumayag dahil may pabuya. Huwag tayo magpalaki ng buwaya, baby pa nga ang tawang, Lolong na,” the Senator said.

Sen. Imee Marcos went on to make a suggestion to the House members to change the leader that they have chosen themselves instead of ousting the one who was elected by the Filipino people. Based on the post, she stressed that it is just a suggestion and she hopes the House members will not have ill feelings towards it.

“Sa mga mahal kong kongresista, may suggestion po ako. Ito suggestion lang naman huwag ninyong masamain. Kaysa inaatupag ninyong palitan ang pinili ng taumbayan, binoto at minahal, bakit ‘di niyo na lang palitan ang tao kayo naman lang ang pumili? Ano kaya kung ‘yung Speaker niyo na lang ang palitan niyo? Kaya niyo yan,” she expressed.

The Senate ruled to archive the impeachment case against Vice Pres. Sara Duterte with a 19-4 voting. The motion was a changed motion by Senate Blue Ribbon Committee Chairman Rodante Marcoleta who initially moved to dismiss the impeachment case against the Vice President.
