SWS Conducts Survey about Vice Pres. Sara Duterte Impeachment Case
SARA DUTERTE – The Social Weather Station (SWS) survey revealed that more Filipinos believe that the Vice President must answer to the impeachment charges.
The Social Weather System has conducted several surveys recently to determine public opinion on the key national issues in the country. One of it is the impeachment charges against Vice Pres. Duterte amid a pending trial.

Amid the issues, a recent SWS survey showed that Vice Pres. Sara Duterte’s trust rating remains higher than Pres. Bongbong Marcos’ trust rating. The opinion polling body conducted another survey — about the impeachment charges against the second-highest official in the Philippine government.

The Social Weather Station conducted a survey to determine public opinion if Vice Pres. Duterte should answer to the impeachment charges against her to address the allegations of corruption. The Vice President was previously impeachment by the House of Representatives amid accusations of misused Confidential Funds.

Based on a report on GMA News, more Filipinos believe that Vice Pres. Sara Duterte should answer to the impeachment charges against her. The results of the survey showed that 66% of the Filipinos agree to it. The survey had 1,200 respondents composed of Filipino adults nationwide.
From the 1,200 respondents, 19% did not agree that the Vice President should answer to the impeachment charges against her while 15% are undecided. With regards to the survey responses per areas, Metro Manila recorded the highest percentage of respondents who believe that the second-highest official should answer to the impeachment case against her.
Metro Manila recorded 76% while Balance Luzon at 69%. Based on the report, Visayas recorded 67% while Mindanao recorded 55%. The Vice President recorded a slight increase in her SWS trust rating in June by 1%.
The Articles of Impeachment against Vice Pres. Sara Duterte was returned by the Senate impeachment court to the House of Representatives. The senator judges questioned the constitutionality of the impeachment case and also sought a reconfirmation from the 20th Congress.
Amid the Duterte-ally senators wanting to block the impeachment trial, opposition Sen. Risa Hontiveros asserted the jurisdiction of the Senate impeachment court on Vice Pres. Duterte’s impeachment complaint. She plans to block the motion of Sen. Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa to ask the senators if they are willing to push through with the trial.
