Vice Pres. Sara Duterte Calls for Dad Rodrigo’s Return to PH Anew

SARA DUTERTE – The Vice President called for the release of her father, former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte, again and told the International Criminal Court (ICC) to stop meddling in the Philippines.

For more than four (4) months now, former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte who is said to be “skin and bones” as per his family remains under the custody of the ICC. The 80-year-old former Chief Executive is faced with an accusation of crimes against humanity due to his administration’s war on drugs.

According to Vice Pres. Duterte, her father lost his appetite on food which resulted to his weight loss. Amid the concern of the supporters of the former President on his current physique now, the Vice President claimed that she prefers her father in a slim physique than having a huge belly.

Vice Pres. Sara Duterte also previously claimed that former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte wants “to be cremated” if he dies during his detention under the ICC in The Hague. According to the Vice President, her father has always been pro-cremation while she is not and he wants only ashes to be brought home to the Philippines.

The Vice President recently returned to The Hague for scheduled visits to her father. Everytime she is in The Hague, she also speaks on interviews outside the ICC detention facility. She also recently joined the Free Duterte Now rally in The Hague organized by the supporters of the former President.

Vice Pres. Sara Duterte called on the release of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte anew and his return to the Philippines. She also gave a fiery remark against the ICC telling the foreign court not to meddle with the affairs of the country. According to her, only the Filipinos can decide on the matter concerning the country and its people.

“Kaya tayo nandito kasi gusto natin sabihin sa ICC, bitawan nyo na yan. Huwag nyo kaming pakialaman. Dahil bansa namin ito, kung ano yung gusto namin mangyari, kami lang mga Pilipino ang magdidesisyon,” Duterte said.

Former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte’s lawyers previously filed a request for his interim release to an undisclosed country. However, based on a recent report on GMA News, their camp still awaits some documents that will allegedly support their interim release bid, thus, they asked the foreign court to halt on deciding over the request.

Vice Pres. Duterte previously claimed that not all of the needs of her 80-year-old father allegedly can be provided inside the ICC detention facility. According to her, he may be taken cared of better with a nurse or a caregiver.

Recently, the Vice President claimed that the ICC and the Marcos administration allegedly colluded in the arrest of her father. Zambales 1st District Representative Jay Khonghun was quick to defend Pres. Bongbong Marcos from the allegations of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte.
