Based on a report on PhilStar, Zubiri extended an invitation to Hontiveros to join the “veterans bloc”. Incoming Sen. Ping Lacson claimed that the vote for the leader of the chamber will determine if a senator is part of the majority of the minority in the Senate.

“When two candidates run for the Senate presidency and you vote for the losing side, you will necessarily be part of the minority. If a senator votes for the winning side, you become part of the majority. That’s the simple definition of it,” Lacson said.

Meanwhile, based on the report, incoming Sen. Bam Aquino recently clarified that he, incoming Sen. Kiko Pangilinan, and Sen. Risa Hontiveros are “still together in the independent bloc”. The female Senator also stressed that she remains an “independent minority” senator in the 20th Congress.

Recently, Sen. Bato dela Rosa revealed the vote of the so-called Duterte bloc for the Senate presidency in the 20th Congress.
