Press Officer of Malacañang Speaks Anew on Vice Pres. Sara Duterte
Malacañang expressed its hope that Vice President Sara Duterte will not tell the whole world that Pres. Bongbong Marcos has no direction.
The Filipino populace witnessed the exchange of fiery messages between Vice Pres. Sara Duterte and the Palace who speaks for Pres. Bongbong Marcos. The soured relationship between the highest and the second-highest officials in the government was seen by the public since Duterte left her post as the secretary of the Department of Education in 2024.

Previously, amid the issues between them which was triggered by the controversial arrest of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte claimed that she has no ill feelings against Pres. Bongbong Marcos. Her statement came amid the belief of the Duterte camp that Marcos Jr. is allegedly behind the impeach process against the Vice President.

According to Vice Pres. Duterte, she has a problem with the performance of Pres. Bongbong Marcos. She also previously claimed that the Marcos administration allegedly has no plans for the country. She backed her claim saying she was once part of the Cabinet of Marcos Jr.

Recently, Malacañang was asked about the frequent travels of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte abroad. On the query about the possible violation that she is committing with her overseas trips, Palace press undersecretary Claire Castro claimed that the Vice President might be violating her obligations to the people.

For her part, Duterte stressed that she continues to work even when she is on a personal trip abroad. She also stressed that she uses her own money during her personal trips. Malacañang previously challenged the Vice President to release a report about her work during her overseas trips but she declined saying it is not her obligation to release details of her personal travels.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte has been to four countries abroad in less than a month after the 2025 Midterm polls. Recently, based on a report on GMA News, Malacañang reacted to the claim of OVP spokesperson Ruth Castelo that the Vice President allegedly has similar duties with the president.
”Hindi naman siguro din kasama sa mandato ng Presidente na laging personal trip o nagbabakasyon,” Castro said.
Based on the report, Atty. Claire Castro also expressed that the Marcos administration is no longer asking for whatever work from her. The Malacañang spox expressed their hope that she will not criticize the government as Pres. Bongbong Marcos is working. She also stressed her hope that the Vice President will not tell the whole world that Marcos Jr. has no direction.
Previously, Malacañang reacted to the upcoming absence of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte to the 4th SONA of Pres. Bongbong Marcos. If it happens, it will be the second time that the Vice President skipped the annual address.
