Licenses Suspended for 6 Sports Car Drivers Who Raced in Tagaytay
TAGAYTAY – The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has suspended the driver’s licenses of six sports car drivers after a video of them racing went viral on social media.
In a Facebook post by the Department of Transportation (DOTr), the video—allegedly uploaded by one of the involved drivers—was shown.
DOTr Secretary Vince Dizon emphasized during a press briefing that President Bongbong Marcos has repeatedly stressed the importance of making roads safe for everyone. “We will not tolerate irresponsible and reckless drivers who violate traffic laws,” he added.

The DOTr also shared a copy of the Show Cause Order (SCO) issued to those linked to the incident. One of the respondents, although the owner of a vehicle seen in the video, was not driving at the time, so his license was not suspended.
In the SCO, the individuals involved were instructed to appear before the LTO on Monday, July 14, to explain why they should not be charged with reckless driving and why their licenses should not be suspended or revoked.

Meanwhile, businessman and social media personality Josh Mojica is asking the LTO for a lighter penalty after a viral video showed him taking a selfie while driving his Porsche on EDSA. He now faces charges of reckless driving, distracted driving, and being unfit to drive. Mojica has admitted to all charges and has surrendered his license.
His lawyer, Atty. Jose Marie Fabella stated that Mojica is a first-time offender who meant no harm and is open to a fair punishment, but hopes to avoid a harsher one. The LTO clarified that the 90-day license suspension is only temporary while the case is under review. His car has also been placed under restriction.
Mojica said he had purchased the Porsche just five days before the video and deeply regrets his mistake. He hopes his experience serves as a lesson on the importance of obeying road safety laws.
