LTO Suspends Josh Mojica’s License Over Viral Driving Video
JOSH MOJICA – The content creator and CEO of Kangkong Chips had his driver’s license suspended by the Land Transportation Office (LTO) after a video of him using his cellphone while driving a Porsche sports car went viral on social media.
The LTO confirmed that Mojica was allegedly recording content while driving, which is a clear violation of road safety laws, particularly the Anti-Distracted Driving Act. LTO Chief Assistant Secretary Atty. Vigor D. Mendoza II emphasized that regardless of the type of vehicle a person drives, everyone must follow traffic rules.

He also pointed out that influencers like Mojica have a responsibility to be good role models for their followers. As a result, Mojica’s license was suspended for 90 days while an investigation is ongoing. He now faces three violations: reckless driving, using a mobile device while driving, and being considered an improper person to operate a motor vehicle—a serious offense that could lead to the permanent cancellation of his license. The Porsche featured in the video was also placed under the LTO’s “alarm” list, and both Mojica and the car’s registered owner were ordered to appear before the LTO Central Office to explain their side.

In a public statement, Josh Mojica admitted his mistake and took full accountability. He explained that he was recording a quick selfie to capture a personal milestone—not to show off, but to mark how far he had come through hard work. However, he acknowledged that even in moments of success, safety should come first.

Mojica reminded his followers not to follow his actions behind the wheel but to be inspired by the dedication and mindset that helped him succeed. He called the incident a lesson in responsibility and growth, saying, “I slipped. I’m learning from it. And I’m owning it like a man.” For now, Mojica says he’s taking the backseat—both literally and as a reminder to prioritize safety over content.
