Zambales solon Jay Khonghun Reacts to Claim of VP Sara Duterte versus PBBM
JAY KHONGHUN – The Zambales First District Representative denied the claim of Vice President Sara Duterte that Pres. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., and the International Criminal Court (ICC) allegedly colluded over the arrest of former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte.
The arrest and the transfer of custody of former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte are some of the things that many people did not see coming. In his previous statements, the former Chief Executive usually appeared to always have the upper hand of the situation.
However, the turn of events last March 11 shocked many people. The Philippine authorities assisted the International Criminal Police Investigation and moved on the arrest of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte. He was arrested by the authorities upon his arrival from Hong Kong and was flown to The Hague, Netherlands via Dubai on the same day that he was arrested.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte believes that the administration of Pres. Bongbong Marcos and the ICC allegedly used each other in the arrest of former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte. Speaking at the Free Duterte Now rally in The Hague, the Vice President claimed that the Marcos admin allegedly want to keep the former President away from the country.
The younger Duterte stressed that her father is the “foremost staunch critic” of the Marcos administration prior to his arrest. According to her, the Marcos admin allegedly does not want an opposition so it supposedly colluded with the ICC to keep the former President away.
Recently, Zambales First District Rep. Jay Khonghun reacted to the claim of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte. Based on a report on Manila Bulletin, the solon denied that Pres. Bongbong Marcos and the ICC colluded over the arrest of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte.
“Walang kuntsabahan. Walang pakikialam. At lalong walang script na siya ang nagpahuli sa dating Pangulo,” the Zambales Congressman said.
Zambales Rep. Jay Khonghun also stressed that Pres. Bongbong Marcos is “not hiding behind kindness”. According to him, the Chief Executive he leads calmly and has respect for the rule of law. He also claimed that Marcos Jr. is not like the other leaders who need to intimidate, shout, and lie so he can have the attention of the people.
Khonghun also denied Duterte’s claim that Marcos Jr. allegedly used the ICC to keep her father away from the country. Based on the report, the Zambales Congressman claimed that the President has no control in everything and the people are allegedly living in a different reality now.
“Hindi lahat ng galaw ng gobyerno ay kontrolado ng Pangulo. We are no longer under a regime where one man can order arrests left and right. President Marcos governs with restraint and humility,” Zambales Rep. Jay Khonghun said.
The Zambales solon called on former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte to just face the accusations against him if they are not really true. Contrary to the expectation of many people, presidential sister and Senator Imee Marcos sided with the Duterte family amid the issue.
Sen. Imee Marcos even filed charges before the Ombudsman against the persons who are allegedly involved in Duterte’s arrest. She also went to The Hague to appeal a visit to the former Chief Executive.
