Gen Tori: PNP Chief Torre’s Look-Alike Goes Viral

Look-Alike of PNP Chief Goes Viral

GEN. TORI – A man who closely resembles PNP Chief Gen. Nicolas Torre III has caught the attention of many netizens and brought laughter across social media.

Nicknamed “Gen Tori,” the look-alike’s striking resemblance to the police chief amused viewers, with some even joking that they might be brothers. In a video shared by Nonoy Lagpat-Team Ragumo, “Gen Tori” is seen wearing a full boxing outfit—complete with gloves and a replica WBC championship belt—adding to the humor. The video quickly gained traction online, receiving over 19,000 reactions and 3,500 shares on Facebook, as people enjoyed the lighthearted moment.

Meanwhile, PNP Chief Gen. Nicolas Torre III recently made headlines after being declared the winner by default in the charity boxing event “Boxing for a Cause: Laban Para sa Nasalanta,” held on July 27, 2025, at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum. The match was originally scheduled against Acting Davao City Mayor Sebastian “Baste” Duterte, who failed to appear within the 10-second countdown, resulting in Torre’s automatic win.

Despite Baste’s absence, the event turned out to be a great success—drawing a large crowd and raising over ₱16 million in donations for flood-affected communities. Torre clarified that no police personnel were forced to attend, noting that tickets even sold out due to high demand.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) expressed appreciation for the generous support provided by Torre and the PNP. Torre later confirmed that he is no longer open to a rematch and is now focusing on his responsibilities and continuing his public service.

However, Baste responded by showing an approved travel document to Singapore as proof of his prior commitment. He also challenged Torre to reschedule the match for the coming Tuesday. Despite this, a fight between the two now seems unlikely.
