Dog Diaper Change on Baby Table Inside Women’s Restroom Draws Backlash
UNHYGIENIC – A couple changing their pet dog’s diaper on a baby-changing table inside a women’s restroom has sparked strong reactions online.
Although the incident happened back in 2021 at a mall in Clark, Pampanga, it resurfaced on July 9, 2025, when a Facebook page reposted the photos. The situation shocked many netizens, not only because the couple used a baby-specific facility for their dog, but also because a man was present inside the women’s restroom.
The photos quickly went viral, drawing thousands of reactions, comments, and shares. Many parents, especially mothers, expressed concern. One netizen, who had just used a similar changing table for her baby the day before, said she now feels uneasy. The original uploader on Reddit said they decided to finally share the images due to the growing number of posts showing irresponsible pet ownership in public places.
While a few pet lovers defended the act, saying pets are family and some owners maintain good hygiene, most netizens disagreed. Even fellow dog owners were upset. One explained that pets can carry diseases transferable to humans, especially infants. “This is a public health hazard,” they said, emphasizing that the act was unacceptable.
Another netizen shared a personal story of being hospitalized with bacterial gastroenteritis after unknowingly using a towel soaked in dog urine. The towel had been inside a gym bag that a dog urinated on during a commute.
Several commenters pointed out that pet owners should request that malls install designated pet care areas instead of using facilities meant for babies. They emphasized that while loving pets is important, respecting public spaces and being considerate of others is equally essential.
