Stolen ₱23M Rolls-Royce Found by Schoolboy
LONDON – A young boy received a ₱152,000 reward after spotting a stolen 1920 Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost worth around ₱23 million.
The rare vintage car, valued at US$410,000, was stolen on June 26, 2025, from the parking lot of Orsett Hall Hotel in Essex, London. Its owner, Brian Fitton, an 82-year-old retired scrapyard owner from Cheshire, was asleep in one of the hotel rooms when it went missing. He had planned to include the car in a trip across the Baltic region, alongside 24 other vehicles, via Tilbury Docks.
The loss was heartbreaking for Brian. He had purchased the Rolls-Royce from the British Petroleum collection in Denmark through a Bonhams auction, then spent years restoring it piece by piece. The car held deep sentimental value, having traveled with him through countries like France, Italy, Germany, and Spain, and still featured its original Spirit of Ecstasy hood ornament. It had even survived both World Wars and is considered a true symbol of British automotive craftsmanship.

In hopes of finding it, Brian offered a ₱152K (US$2,700) reward. Luckily, while walking home near a wooded area, a young schoolboy noticed the distinct car hidden under trees and a rundown shed. He told his father, who remembered seeing news coverage about the theft, and quickly contacted the police.
Essex Police immediately checked the area and found the Rolls-Royce still attached to a trailer and completely intact—no damage or missing parts.

Brian was beyond grateful—not only for getting his treasured car back but also for the role the public and media played in raising awareness. He hopes the reward inspires the young boy always to do the right thing, knowing that good deeds are always worth it.
