Vice Pres. Sara Duterte Speaks on Pres. Bongbong Marcos, 2022 Elections Tandem
BONGBONG MARCOS – Vice President Sara Duterte claimed that the President was allegedly not confident to beat former Vice Pres. Leni Robredo in the 2022 Elections so he supposedly picked her to be his running mate.
The soured relationship between Pres. Marcos and Vice Pres. Duterte has divided the once-solid BBM-Sara supporters. The highest and the second-highest officials in the Philippine government now previously formed a victorious tandem in the 2022 Elections but had a breaking apart after around two (2) years.
In 2024, Duterte left the Marcos Cabinet citing both personal and work reasons. She is currently faced with impeachment moves and her camp believes that the Marcos admin wants her removed from office. The Vice President was impeached by the House of Representatives last February 5 and there is a looming trial that many people await.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte previously claimed that she is allegedly the frontrunner of the 2028 Elections, thus, the Marcos administration supposedly wants her out from the race. Recently, she claimed that no one will allegedly vote for a Marcos for president ever again.
Amid their rift, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte has apologized to the Filipino people several times for endorsing and running along with then presidential candidate Bongbong Marcos in the 2022 Elections. Recently, the Vice President admitted that she voted for Marcos Jr. in the 2022 polls.
Based on a report on Inquirer, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte claimed that she really regretted voting for Pres. Bongbong Marcos in the 2022 Elections. According to her, Marcos Jr. allegedly picked her to be his running mate in 2022 as he was supposedly not confident to beat his presidential race rival, former Vice Pres. Leni Robredo.
In 2016, both Marcos Jr. and Robredo ran for the vice presidency and the latter won the race. Several historians believe that while the Leni-Kiko tandem did not emerge victoriously in terms of votes in the 2022 Elections, they made a history with the kind of campaign that was instilled in the hearts of their supporters.
Based on the report, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte claimed that Pres. Bongbong Marcos’ allies now are allegedly the “Dilawans”. According to her, when it comes to the elections, the Dilawans or the yellowtards will “choose one of their own”.
In a recent event in Malaysia, Senator Robin Padilla called Vice Pres. Sara Duterte as the “next president of the Philippines”. He also claimed that he will not be a politician in 2028 but the campaign manager of Vice Pres. Duterte and presidential sister and Sen. Imee Marcos.
Amid the issue between the highest and the second-highest officials in the government, Sen. Imee Marcos sided with the Duterte family. In her proclamation speech, Sen. Imee Marcos even mentioned former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte and Vice Pres. Sara Duterte but not Pres. Bongbong Marcos, her brother.
