Duterte Ally Senators Bong Go, Bato dela Rosa Support Resolution of Sen. Robin Padilla
BATO DELA ROSA, BONG GO – The two (2) Duterte allies signed the resolution of Senator Robin Padilla calling for the return of former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte.
Several senators in the Senate are close allies of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte and they are even expected to create the so-called “Duterte bloc”. Senators Go, Dela Rosa, Padilla, and Marcos are the ones known as allies of the Duterte family.
Sen. Imee Marcos even previously confirmed her plan to join the “Duterte bloc” in the 20th Congress. She was also present at the Philippine Independence Day celebration in Malaysia with Vice Pres. Sara Duterte and Sen. Robin Padilla.
In the said PH Independence Day event, Sen. Robin Padilla claimed that he will be the campaign manager of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte and Sen. Imee Marcos in 2028. He stressed that he will not be a politician in the next elections and made an early campaigning for the tandem.
Sen. Robin Padilla also recently authored a resolution calling on the Senate to express urgency in the return of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte. The actor-turned-politician previously attempted to file it but the Bills and Index Section of the Senate did not accept it as the 19th Congress has already adjourned. He plans to refile it.
Based on a report on GMA News, the resolution of Sen. Robin Padilla has yet to be filed but it gained the signatures of two (2) known solid allies of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte — Sen. Bato dela Rosa and Sen. Bong Go. According to the actor-turned-senator, it is “more than just a resolution”.
“It is a call for unity, for respect of our sovereignty, and for justice for a former President who bravely served the nation,” Padilla said.
Sen. Bato dela Rosa was the chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP) during the term of Duterte as president while Sen. Bong Go was his long-time aide. Based on the report, Sen. Robin Padilla said the resolution remains open for other senators who want to affix their signature to it.
Former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte is currently detained in The Hague, Netherlands. He is faced with an accusation of crimes against humanity before the International Criminal Court (ICC) over his admin’s war on drugs. Sen. Bato dela Rosa believes that he is allegedly the number two (2) in the ICC list of people who will be arrested for the investigation.
Previously, PNP chief police General Nicolas Torre III spoke on the possible ICC arrest of Sen. Bato dela Rosa. He was one of the lead implementers of the arrest of former Pres. Duterte.
