Victor Neri is Now a Law Graduate
VICTOR NERI – The actor and chef has officially completed his law degree at 49 years old, proving that it’s never too late to pursue your dreams. He earned his Juris Doctor this year from the University of Bohol, all while juggling multiple careers and responsibilities.
Victor took a break from showbiz to explore other paths. He followed his passion for food and became a professional chef and restaurateur. He even traveled around Asia, including Bangkok, to study different cuisines and expand his culinary expertise.
Beyond the kitchen, Victor also served the country. He trained with the Philippine Coast Guard and became an explosive ordnance disposal technician. Later on, he worked with the Bureau of Immigration as a member of the Fugitive Search Unit.

Many fans first recognized Victor as a teen star in ABS-CBN’s “Ang TV” during the 1990s. He was part of the first batch of Star Circle (now Star Magic) and later starred in action films like Iskalawag, Amanos, Birador, Tigasin, and Ex-con. He also appeared in the Hollywood movie Brokedown Palace alongside Claire Danes and Kate Beckinsale.
He returned to television in 2014 through the series Hawak Kamay, followed by roles in Lavender Fields and Lolong: Bayani ng Bayan. Earlier this year, Victor ventured into politics by running for mayor of Makati City in the 2025 midterm elections but lost to Nancy Binay.

Meanwhile, to graduate from law school, one must first complete a college degree and then enroll in a Juris Doctor (JD) program, which typically lasts three to four years. The curriculum includes subjects such as Criminal Law, Civil Law, Constitutional Law, Legal Ethics, and Legal Writing. Students must pass exams, undergo practical training, and sometimes complete a thesis. After earning the degree, passing the bar examination is essential to become a licensed lawyer. Although demanding, the process offers a rewarding career for those committed to justice and public service.
