Over 100 Kids to Inherit Telegram Boss’s ₱979B Wealth
PAVEL DUROV – The billionaire founder of the popular messaging app Telegram has shared his plan to leave his entire fortune—estimated at $17.1 billion (or around ₱979 billion)—to more than 100 of his children.
In an interview with the French news outlet Le Point, the 40-year-old tech entrepreneur explained that six of his children are with three different partners, while the rest were born through sperm donations he had made over the past 15 years. He mentioned that the clinic where he donated sperm informed him that over 100 babies had been conceived this way across 12 countries.
Durov also revealed that he recently finalized his will, deciding that his children would not receive their inheritance until 30 years after his death. He said he wants them to grow up without depending on wealth—allowing them to live normal lives, develop independence, trust themselves, and nurture creativity, without relying on a bank account.

He emphasized that all of his children would be treated equally, stating that they will have the same rights and that he hopes to prevent any conflicts over the inheritance in the future.
Regarding Telegram’s future, Durov said the platform will be managed by a non-profit foundation after his passing. His goal is to ensure that Telegram continues to operate independently while upholding users’ privacy and the freedom of expression.

Durov founded Telegram in 2013. Today, it stands as one of the most downloaded apps globally, with over 1 billion active users. It remains popular for its simple interface, ability to support large files and group chats, and its strong commitment to user privacy.
