Vice Pres. Sara Duterte Claims Pres. Bongbong Marcos Allegedly Wants To Stay in Power
SARA DUTERTE – The Vice President claimed that she is the frontrunner in the presidential elections in 2028.
Vice Pres. Duterte is currently faced with an impeachment case which she requested to be dismissed by the Senate impeachment court. The Vice President claimed in her response to the summons sent by the impeachment court that the impeachment case against her is allegedly unconstitutional.
Furthermore, Vice Pres. Duterte also claimed that the impeachment case against her is “nothing more than a scrap of paper”. Countless people were surprised when Duterte asked for the dismissal of her impeachment case which she defended as not her desire but the move of her lawyers.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte claimed she does not want to waste money so she followed her lawyers’ advice to seek for the dismissal of the impeachment case. Previously, she claimed that she is ready whether the impeachment court will acquit or convict her.
The Senate impeachment court ruled to return the Articles of Impeachment against Duterte to the House of Representatives. Pres. Bongbong Marcos has recently reiterated that he has no role in the impeachment process of the Vice President.
Malacañang also repeatedly stressed that Marcos Jr. will not intervene with the impeachment process but wants it to push through. However, following the claim of Marcos Jr., Duterte said the president allegedly has the “hallmark of a scammer”.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte and her camp believe that the Marcos administration allegedly wants her ousted from office despite the previous pronouncements of the Chief Executive. Recently, in an interview with Russian media, the Vice President claimed that the government is making moves as the President allegedly wants to stay in power.
Based on a report on GMA News, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte called herself as the “frontrunner in the presidential race in 2028”. According to her, Pres. Bongbong Marcos allegedly wants to “perpetuate himself or his family in power”.
“It’s all about the refusal or the intent of President Marcos. It is the intent of President Marcos not to step down… It is clear from the moves of his administration against political opponents,” the Vice President said.
According to Duterte, the Marcos administration is allegedly threatened by her popularity. Based on the report, she also expressed her belief that the administration allegedly took former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte out in the belief that it will weaken her.
After the 2025 Midterm Elections, the Vice President went to Qatar, Netherlands, Malaysia, and Australia in less than a month. Malacañang reacted to the frequent abroad travels of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte.
