Ruffa Gutierrez Opens Up About Her Relationship with Herbert Bautista
RUFFA GUTIERREZ – The actress revealed that she and her boyfriend, actor and politician Herbert Bautista, are currently not speaking. She made this disclosure during her interview on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda, which aired on June 12, 2025, during Philippine Independence Day.
When asked about live-in relationships, Ruffa firmly stated that she has never lived with any partner. She explained that she does not believe in cohabitation, believing that it helps her relationships last longer because both partners have personal space and maintain the excitement of seeing each other. For her, waking up next to the same person every day might feel repetitive or tiring. She added that her longest relationship lasted seven years, and she has never gone beyond that.
Ruffa also admitted that she and Herbert are going through a rough patch in their relationship. At present, they are not communicating, and she is uncertain whether this phase will end or if they will reconnect in the future.
On a different note, Ruffa spoke about her renewed communication with her ex-husband, Yilmaz Bektas. They have been frequently talking on the phone and have become good friends again. She emphasized that Herbert is not bothered by her friendship with Yilmaz. Since Herbert also has children and maintains a friendship with the mother of his children, he understands the situation. His maturity and confidence prevent him from feeling jealous.
Ruffa expressed her desire to invite Yilmaz to her upcoming birthday celebration since they have not seen each other in person for over twenty years. Their phone conversations often turn into playful debates about their past, including how they first met. According to Ruffa, Yilmaz was the one who pursued her, even though he initially did not speak English, and she was the one who taught him the language at that time.
She further clarified that, despite rumors, Yilmaz has never remarried and has not fathered any children after their daughters, Lorin and Venice. Although he had a fiancée after their separation, the relationship did not lead to marriage.
