Sen. Robin Padilla Speaks To Filipinos in Malaysia

ROBIN PADILLA – The Senator joined Vice President Sara Duterte and fellow Sen. Imee Marcos in a PH Independence Day event in Malaysia.

Prior to the Senate deciding to return the articles of impeachment against Vice Pres. Duterte to the House which Senate Pres. Chiz Escudero clarified does not equate to the dismissal of the case, some Duterte allies have shown hints of their stand on the issue.

Sen. Robin Padilla even reaffirmed his commitment to the Duterte family. He also filed a resolution seeking to dismiss the impeachment case against the Vice President. With an 18-5 voting, the Senate impeachment court has ruled for the return of the articles of impeachment to the House. All the senators cast their vote on the “remand” motion.

Following the controversial convention of the Senate impeachment court, Sen. Robin Padilla and Sen. Imee Marcos joined Vice Pres. Sara Duterte in the celebration of the PH Independence Day with the Filipinos in Malaysia. Based on a post of ABS-CBN News, at the event, the action star-turned-Senator called the Vice President “the next president of the Philippines”.

“Gusto ko muna kong mabigay pugay unang-una sa susunod na pangulo na si Inday Sara Duterte,” Sen. Robin Padilla said.

The audience chanted “Duterte” following the remarks of Sen. Robin Padilla. Based on the post, the Senator claimed he is becoming braver upon hearing it.

“Ang sarap! Kapag sinisagaw mo lalo akong tumatapang eh!” the Senator said.

Amid the loyalty of Sen. Padilla and Sen. Marcos to the Dutertes, countless Filipinos find it an issue over neutrality now that they are senator judges in the impeachment trial of the Vice President. House Speaker Martin Romualdez called the decision of the Senate on Duterte’s impeachment as “deeply concerning”.

Opposition senators Risa Hontiveros and Koko Pimentel maintained that there is no “return” in the legal process based on the Constitution. The House is firm that it will continue the fight for justice.
