Sen. Robin Padilla Confirms Drafting Resolution Seeking for Dismissal of Impeachment Case vs. VP Sara Duterte
ROBIN PADILLA – The Senator reiterated his loyalty to the Duterte family as he sought for the dismissal of the impeachment case versus Vice President Sara Duterte.
Last February 5, Vice Pres. Duterte was impeached by the House of Representatives. The Vice President is surrounded by allegations and issues about the spending of her officers’ Confidential Funds. Supposedly, the presentation of the articles of impeachment by the House’ prosecution team was scheduled last June 2 but it was moved.

Senate Pres. Chiz Escudero announced the postponement of the reading of the articles of impeachment from June 2 to June 10. The move did not sit well with a lot of people. Several civil society groups set to conduct a 3-day protest for the immediate start of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte.

Based on the result of the OCTA survey, 78% Pinoys wants Vice Pres. Sara Duterte to face the impeachment trial. On the other side, several Duterte allies want the impeachment case against the Vice President dismissed. Sen. Robin Padilla drafted a resolution seeking the dismissal of the impeachment case against Duterte.

Based on a report on GMA News, Sen. Robin Padilla drafted the Senate Resolution 1371 stressed that the 19th Congress will adjourn on Friday, June 13, and thus, “all pending matters and proceedings shall terminate upon the expiration of one (1) Congress”.

“Whereas, the Articles of Impeachment against Vice President Sara Zimmerman Duterte is one such pending matter, and the consideration thereof is one such pending proceeding,” Padilla state in his resolution.
The statement of Sen. Robin Padilla also went viral on Facebook as he reiterated his loyalty to the Duterte family. According to the action star-turned-Senator, even if he will be burned, he will smell like former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte.
“Kahit sunugin mo ako dito, mangangamoy Rodrigo Roa Duterte ako,” he said.
Aside from Sen. Robin Padilla, another known Duterte ally, Sen. Bato dela Rosa, also pushes for the dropping of the impeachment trial against Vice Pres. Sara Duterte.
