Ricky Reyes and Renee Salud Oppose Same-S3x Marriage and SOGIE Bill

Ricky Reyes and Renee Salud Share Views on LGBTQ Rights

RICKY REYES AND RENEE SALUD – The prominent LGBTQ figures and fashion icons shared their views on same-s3x marriage and the SOGIE (S3xual Orientation and Gender Identity Expression) Equality Bill during an episode of Toni Talks hosted by Toni Gonzaga on June 22.

When asked about their stance on same-s3x marriage, Renee Salud explained that he does not support it, especially if the motivation behind it is legal matters such as property division. He believes couples can simply agree on a partnership without pursuing legal marriage, which, he said, should remain between a man and a woman.

Ricky Reyes also opposed same-s3x marriage, stating that marriage is intended for a man and a woman and should not be changed, as it is part of God’s creation. He described the push for same-s3x marriage as excessive and unnecessary.

On the topic of the SOGIE Bill, Reyes emphasized that he was one of those who actively opposed it. He said that no matter how much society tries to reshape or redefine identity, a gay person remains gay, and attempting to change that is pointless. He also expressed frustration with what he perceives as excessive demands from some members of the LGBTQ community, noting that many behave with a sense of entitlement.

Renee Salud agreed, adding that while he supports granting rights and space to the LGBTQ community, some members tend to go too far with their demands. He stressed the importance of adapting to society instead of expecting full acceptance in every situation, as not everyone is open-minded.

Reyes added that tolerance is already more than acceptance and that people should learn to adjust appropriately depending on the social setting.

This conversation contrasts with Senator Risa Hontiveros’ earlier interview, where she expressed sadness over the controversy surrounding the SOGIE Bill. She clarified that the bill simply aims to provide equal rights for all people, regardless of SOGIE, and is not seeking any special privileges for the LGBTQIA+ community.
