Remulla Admits Powerful Figure Behind Missing Sabungeros

DOJ Chief Reveals New Details in Sabungeros Case

BOYING REMULLA – The Justice Secretary revealed that a powerful individual may be behind the disappearance of more than 100 sabungeros or cockfighting enthusiasts.

In a media interview on June 26, he admitted that the person behind the crime is no ordinary suspect but someone with significant influence and access to large amounts of money.

According to Remulla, this person has the ability to bribe individuals within both the government and the judiciary. “Ang bigat ng kalaban dito kasi ang perang iyan, nakakapasok iyan even sa judiciary. Kaya kailangan kausapin ang Chief Justice,” he said.

He emphasized that the group’s influence is so strong it could interfere with the proper delivery of justice. Remulla also expressed his support for the main witness, known as “Alyas Totoy,” who not only provided testimony but also submitted video evidence to support his claims.

Totoy, a former security guard at the Manila Arena—where cockfighting events were held—shared disturbing details about the missing men. He said the victims were strangled with wire, tied to sacks filled with sand, and thrown into Taal Lake. Totoy claimed he once worked closely with the alleged mastermind and identified about 30 individuals—including police officers and civilians—who were involved.

One of the most shocking parts of Totoy’s statement was his claim that a well-known female celebrity is connected to the case. While he did not reveal her name, he described her as an “alpha member” of the group, suggesting she played a key role in the operation. He said she was frequently present during meetings and appeared to have detailed knowledge of what was going on.

Totoy stated that his affidavit is ready, but he plans to submit it only after gathering more evidence and securing witness protection. He admitted fearing for his life and now wants to become a state witness. The Department of Justice has since ordered the re-arrest of Totoy and other suspects, as the case continues to develop.
