Regine Velasquez to Fyang Smith: “Puwede kang maging magaling na magaling na magaling na singer”
REGINE VELASQUEZ – The Asia’s Songbird showed her full support for Pinoy Big Brother Gen 11 Big Winner Fyang Smith during the latter’s debut album launch and fan meet held on Sunday, June 22, at the New Frontier Theater. After her performance, Regine offered heartfelt advice to the young star, who is still new to the music scene.
“Ang pagkanta is a skill,,” Regine said. “Kung isasapuso mo at isasaisip mo ang pag-practice, puwede kang maging magaling na magaling na magaling na singer.” She also reminded Fyang how fortunate she is to have this kind of opportunity. “Alam mo hindi lahat nabibigyan ng opportunity to record an album, to do a show, so kailangan lang nating isaisip at isapuso lahat ng mga gagawin natin para lahat sila maging happy lagi.”

Clearly touched by Regine’s presence, Fyang gave her flowers on stage as a gesture of gratitude. The event was filled with excitement as Fyang performed songs from her album, joined by guest artists including her fellow PBB housemates—Kai Montinola, Rain Celmar, Kolette Madelo, Binsoy Namoca, and Jarren Garcia.

Adding more sweetness to the evening was the presence of JM Ibarra, often referred to as Fyang’s “best man,” who joined her on stage for a duet of “Tayo Hanggang Dulo,” much to the delight of their fans.

Fyang’s family also showed their full support. Her father even flew back to the Philippines, along with some friends, just to be part of her big day.
Meanwhile, another rising singer is beginning to attract attention—Chloe San Jose, the girlfriend of Olympic gold medalist Carlos Yulo. Like Fyang, Chloe has also started exploring a singing career.
Although both Fyang and Chloe are building a fan base, they have also received criticism online—especially Fyang, whose viral performance clips drew mixed reactions. Still, veteran host Ogie Diaz encouraged everyone to support artists doing what they love. He also emphasized that those who want to pursue singing seriously should invest time in proper vocal training and preparation.
