Vice Ganda’s Co-Hosts MC and Lassy Missing in Action
MC MUAH CALAQUIAN AND LASSY MARQUEZ — The comedy duo has also been absent from the Vice! Comedy Club owned by the Unkabogable Star, Vice Ganda.
Both comedians have not appeared on the Kapamilya noontime show It’s Showtime for several weeks now, where they had been regular co-hosts since 2024. They are also no longer performing at Vice Ganda’s comedy bar, where MC held a position.
Speculation about their absence grew after Vice Ganda publicly confronted MC in a vlog filmed during a group vacation in Coron, Palawan. In the video, Vice Ganda expressed frustration, saying that MC often kept the group waiting during meals and bonding sessions, despite the vacation being planned for quality time together. Although the two later reconciled on camera with an emotional hug, netizens speculated that this conflict might be related to their absence from the show and comedy bar. Reactions online were mixed—some supported Vice Ganda, while others criticized his approach.

According to a report from Cabinet Files, MC and Lassy reportedly took a voluntary break from It’s Showtime. Meanwhile, MC remains active on his social media accounts, promoting content with their comedy group, Beks Battalion, alongside Lassy and Chad Kinis.
In a YouTube vlog with Julius Babao uploaded on June 10, 2025, Lassy shared his journey in comedy. He recalled starting his career in smaller comedy bars before being noticed by managers of larger venues like Punchline and Laffline in Quezon City. Lassy was initially nervous to audition, knowing that big names like Vice Ganda, Ethel Booba, and the late Chokoleit were regular performers. Despite the intimidating environment, Lassy insisted on auditioning with his companions, including MC.

Eventually, both Lassy and MC became part of It’s Showtime after being invited to guest for one week, which later extended until they became regulars. They also performed regularly at Vice! Comedy Club. In the interview, Lassy expressed his gratitude to Vice Ganda, It’s Showtime, various comedy bars, and close friends who supported him throughout his career.
