A man working as a galley utility on an international cruise ship shared his heartbreaking story after his wife leaves him for a ship officer.
Recently, the Facebook page Ka Marino Vlog, shared a heartbreaking post of a galley utility identified as Mark Anthony Reyes after being left by his wife, who chose to be with a ship officer instead. The post elicited reactions from netizens.
Reyes had been working onboard for six months, doing the heavy and repetitive tasks that came with his job including cleaning drains, carrying supplies, and disposing of waste. Despite the hard work, he pushed on, believing everything he did was for a better future with his wife, Carla.
Carla also worked on the same ship as a waitress. At first, things seemed fine. But Mark noticed changes, she no longer spent time with him after duty, made excuses to be with coworkers, and eventually distanced herself completely.
The galley utility later discovered that Carla was spending time with a Third Officer named Yvez, and their closeness left no room for doubt.
Eventually, Carla moved to the officer’s quarters. When confronted, she ended things with Mark, saying she found peace and respect with someone else. It was a heartbreaking moment for him, especially after all the sacrifices he made for her.
Mark was assigned to serve food in the officer’s mess, where he had to face the very man who replaced him. There were no apologies, no explanations, just silence.
After his contract ended, Carla resigned and was later reported to have become pregnant. However, her relationship with the officer didn’t last.
Meanwhile, Mark chose to rise again. He trained, got promoted, and now works as an Assistant Storekeeper. He never sought revenge, and despite being hurt, he held onto his dignity.
