Boy Dila Returns Ahead of Wattah Wattah
Lexter Castro, better known online as Boy Dila, made headlines again after appearing on the show Pinoy Pawnstars, hosted by Jayson Luzadas—also known as Boss Toyo—just before the 2025 Wattah Wattah Festival in San Juan City. Despite facing controversy over the past year, Castro unexpectedly showed up at the event—only days after being granted temporary release from jail.
Castro first gained notoriety in 2024 after a viral video showed him splashing water on a motorcycle rider during the Wattah Wattah Festival, drawing both amusement and backlash. In May 2025, his name resurfaced for allegedly catcalling a minor, which led to legal charges. Because of these incidents, many people believed he wouldn’t take part in this year’s festival.
However, on June 23, just before the festivities began, Castro appeared on Luzadas’ show to sell the very water gun involved in last year’s incident. During the segment, he revealed that he had only recently posted bail and that his freedom was temporary. Luzadas jokingly said that Castro might be selling the water gun just to cover the costs of his release.
After a short negotiation, Boss Toyo—Luzadas’ on-screen persona—agreed to buy the water gun for ₱8,500. He shared his plan to eventually display it in a museum he is developing, preserving the item as part of viral internet history.
Meanwhile, the San Juan City government tightened its rules for the 2025 Wattah Wattah Festival, partly in response to the controversies surrounding last year’s celebration. Traditionally held every June 24, the festival is a lively event that honors the feast day of St. John the Baptist. It is well known for the tradition of dousing people with water, symbolizing baptism and cleansing.
Boy Dila’s unexpected participation—whether in person or through his now-iconic water gun—became a hot topic among netizens, proving how one viral moment can leave a lasting mark on a cultural celebration.
