Willie Revillame’s Mother Passes Away at 79

Willie Revillame Mourns the Loss of His Mother

WILLIE REVILLAME – The TV host and entertainer quietly mourned the passing of his mother, Myrna Buendia, who died on April 1, 2025, at the age of 79. Instead of making a public announcement, Willie chose to grieve in private, sharing the news only with his family and closest friends.

Myrna had been bedridden for eight years after suffering from an aneurysm. During those challenging years, Willie—her eldest child among six siblings—made sure she received proper care by hiring a full-time caregiver and nurse. They lived together, which brought them even closer.

Willie often says his mother was one of the biggest reasons for his strength and determination. She gave birth to him at the young age of 14, and her courage left a lasting impact on him. Her influence helped shape the way he faced life’s challenges.

A few important dates became emotionally significant for Willie. Myrna passed away on April 1, and her cremation was held on April 4, which is also the birthday of Willie’s late father, Engineer Honorio Revillame. These back-to-back events made the loss even heavier.

Willie paused his senatorial campaign to grieve. He resumed on April 9, which was the ninth day after his mother’s passing—an important day in Filipino tradition for honoring the dead. On May 1, he returned to his hometown, Cabanatuan City, to mark one month since her passing.

May 10 is the final campaign day for all election candidates, and it also marks the 40th day since his mother’s death—a spiritual milestone in Filipino culture. The next day, May 11, is Mother’s Day, making the moment even more meaningful for Willie. His mother would have turned 80 on May 24.

While these dates may seem like coincidences, Willie believes they are signs that his mother is still guiding him from above.
