Vice Pres. Sara Duterte Fervently Campaigns for PDP-Laban, her Senatorial Bets in May 2025 Elections
SARA DUTERTE – The Vice President sang Barry Manilow’s “Somewhere Down the Road” at a campaign rally and the audience sang along with her.
The children of former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte have committed to campaigning fervently for his PDP-Laban candidates. The former Chief Executive is currently detained at the Hague, Netherlands under the custody of the International Criminal Court (ICC).

The elder Duterte is the chairman of the PDP-Laban. The president of the political party is Senator Robin Padilla who also immediately flew to The Hague following the arrest of the former president. Sen. Robin Padilla wanted to visit former Pres. Duterte to ask about the elections but it was not sure if the ICC permitted him.

After staying for more than three (3) weeks in The Hague to finalize the ICC legal team of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte returned to the Philippines. She met with her lawyers for her impeachment trial right away and she also joined several campaign sorties to endorse her senatorial bets.

Amid the arrest of former Pres. Duterte causing political turmoil in the Philippine government, Senator Imee Marcos sided with the Dutertes. She opened a Senate investigation to probe the arrest of the former President which, for her, was unacceptable. She also submitted the findings of her investigation to the Ombudsman.
At the sidelines of a campaign rally, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte explained that Sen. Imee Marcos is different from Pres. Bongbong Marcos. She claimed that the Senator thinks for solutions to the problem. Duterte also previously apologized to the Filipinos for endorsing Marcos Jr. in 2022.
Recently, at a campaign rally, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte sang “Somewhere Down the Road”, a hit of Barry Manilow. Based on a post on social media, the audience joined the Vice President in singing the beautiful song.
Previously, Vice Pres. Duterte called on the Filipinos not to vote for the candidates of Pres. Bongbong Marcos. Malacañang has yet to react to the remarks of the Vice President.
