VP Sara Duterte Believes Replacing House Speaker Martin Romualdez “Irrelevant” Now
SARA DUTERTE – The Vice President reacted to the rumored replacement of House Speaker Martin Romualdez.
Vice Pres. Duterte has joined several campaign sorties across the nation amid the nearing May 2025 Elections. The Vice President has also granted several chance interviews whenever she would attend campaign rallies.

Vice Pres. Sara Duterte is endorsing Sen. Imee Marcos, Las Piñas Representative Camille Villar, and the PDP-Laban bets in the upcoming elections. Aside from campaigning for her senatorial bets, Duterte also called on the Filipinos not to vote for Pres. Bongbong Marcos’ candidates.

The feud between Duterte and Marcos is no secret to the Filipino people since last year. It was recently triggered by the arrest of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte and his transfer to the custody of the International Criminal Court in The Hague, Netherlands. Duterte is also faced with a looming impeachment trial.
Aside from her possible impeachment, the Office of Prosecutor also sent the Vice President summons over the case filed against her by the National Bureau of Investigation. The NBI previously summoned Duterte over her “kill” remarks against Pres. Bongbong Marcos but she repeatedly skipped the probe.
Previously, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte claimed that she allegedly ordered the eradication of Marcos Jr., House Speaker Martin Romualdez, and First Lady Liza Marcos in case an alleged plot against her succeeds. She previously accused that Romualdez is one of the two (2) lawmakers in the House of Representatives who controls the budget.

Recently, there are rumors that House Speaker Martin Romualdez will be replaced in his position as the chief of the lower chamber. Malacañang denied that a Palace memorandum allegedly suggesting Romualdez’s removal to boost Marcos Jr.’s ratings is circulating. The Palace tagged it as a “Fake News”. However, it still earned a comment from Vice Pres. Sara Duterte.

Based on a report on PhilStar, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte claimed that she has no information about it but she believes that it is too late to replace House Speaker Martin Romualdez. She also believes that it is already allegedly irrelevant now.
“I don’t have information about the supposed document on the replacement of Speaker Romualdez. I don’t think that is relevant right now because the damage has been done. What they (House members) did to our national budget was so wrong and corrupt,” the Vice President said.
The ratings of Pres. Bongbong Marcos in several surveys have declined. Previously, Malacañang claimed that Marcos Jr. is not bothered by the ratings whether it is high or low.
