Public Scholar Seeks Help as Both Parents Fight Cancer
A public scholar has appealed to the public for help to support her parents, who are both fighting cancer.
Lilianne Claire Rotap, a student from Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP), is asking for help to support her parents, who are both fighting cancer. His post elicited various reactions from the online community.
In a post shared on the PUP Sta. Mesa Freedom Wall, Lilianne shared that her father has been diagnosed with Signet Ring Cell Carcinoma, a rare and aggressive form of colon cancer. He recently went through a major surgery that removed parts of his stomach, and he is scheduled for another operation followed by special chemotherapy sessions.

“Both of my parents have just been diagnosed with cancer. My dad has Signet Ring Cell Carcinoma, a rare and aggressive type of colon cancer. While we were still trying to recover from that, my mom’s diagnosis came in: She has Invasive Breast Carcinoma with aggressive features, including tumor necrosis,” she wrote.
As the family was trying to cope with her father’s condition, they were surprised to find out that Lilianne’s mother also has cancer. She was diagnosed with Invasive Breast Carcinoma, another aggressive type that has not yet been treated due to financial challenges.
Lilianne and her sibling are both still students. Despite their efforts to stay strong and find ways to manage the expenses, they are now overwhelmed by the mounting hospital bills and treatment costs.

The family’s current situation has left them with very little to keep both parents’ treatments going.
Lilianne is now appealing to kind-hearted individuals who may be willing to offer financial help. She provided several donation channels, including GCash, Maya, and BDO bank accounts under her name and her relative’s.
