Man Accuses Paolo Duterte of Beating Him for 2 Hours

KRISTONE JOHN PATRIA – The man accusing Davao City 1st District Representative Paolo Duterte of physical assault, recounted a troubling night in February 2025 that allegedly ended with him being beaten for nearly two hours. According to Patria, the violent incident stemmed from Duterte becoming upset during a drinking session involving hired women.

Patria claimed that the congressman was triggered twice that evening—first, when one of his bodyguards failed to bring a woman he had hired, and second, when Duterte paid only ₱1,000 to a woman who had spent a long time with him. Patria said the woman complained about the low payment, which appeared to upset Duterte—not at the woman, but at Patria.

He shared that their drinking began at 8 p.m. and lasted until 3 a.m. Despite the long hours, one of the women was paid only ₱1,000, which sparked the conflict. Things escalated when Duterte noticed a CCTV camera inside the bar and reportedly ordered it to be turned off. Shortly after, Patria said he was beaten for two hours.

Patria clarified that he does not own the bar, dismissing claims that he could have manipulated the evidence. He also admitted to being a pimp and claimed that it was not the first time Duterte had asked him to provide women—usually when the lawmaker was with business partners or foreign acquaintances.

When asked why he approached the Department of Justice (DOJ) instead of the local police in Davao, Patria said he feared for his safety. He was worried that approaching the wrong person might expose him to more danger, especially in a city strongly associated with the Duterte family. “That time, hopeless ako e,” he said, explaining his decision to bring the case to the DOJ.

Patria emphasized that he has nothing personal against the Dutertes and even identified himself as a supporter. He said he filed the complaint only after taking time to process the incident. As for those questioning the authenticity of the CCTV footage, Patria challenged them to view both the indoor and outdoor footage to confirm what happened.

Meanwhile, Rep. Duterte stated that he is awaiting the video’s official authentication and has yet to receive a formal copy of the complaint.
