Ogie Diaz Reminds Food Vloggers to Be Kind and Fair
OGIE DIAZ – The vlogger and talent manager has spoken out in response to the controversy surrounding content creator Euleen Castro, also known as “Pambansang Yobab,” who has been widely criticized online for a harsh food review she posted about a coffee shop in Iloilo.
In a viral TikTok video, Euleen bluntly stated that none of the food or drinks she ordered tasted good, calling them bland and even using profanity in frustration. This drew backlash not only from netizens but also from business groups, fellow content creators, and some local officials.
Reacting to the situation, Ogie Diaz, a well-known TV host and talent manager, shared his thoughts on his Facebook page. He advised vloggers to be mindful and respectful, especially when reviewing food. He recalled advice from actor Enchong Dee: if the food isn’t enjoyable, just say it didn’t suit your taste instead of outright saying it’s not good. Ogie emphasized that everyone has different taste preferences, and what doesn’t taste good to one person may be delicious to someone else.

He further stressed the importance of being considerate, especially since many small businesses rely on their income to pay bills, tuition fees, and salaries. Instead of publicly shaming a business, Ogie suggested sending private messages to offer constructive feedback. He also reminded content creators to be mindful of how their reviews might affect the mental health of business owners.
Ogie shared his own experience with a coffee shop he frequently visits. Though he had valid complaints about the pricing and taste, he chose to speak directly to the staff. They acknowledged his feedback and improved their offerings.

Diaz encouraged influencers to help businesses grow by supporting and suggesting improvements, rather than tearing them down. He also shared that when he enjoys food sent to him for review, he usually orders and pays next time to show support. While some businesses insist on giving it for free, he still chooses to help by paying and spreading positive word of mouth.
In the end, Ogie reminded vloggers: if you’re not satisfied, speak respectfully and directly to the staff or owner. Having a platform doesn’t give anyone the right to damage a business just for views.
