TUNG TUNG TUNG SAHUR – A concerned mother named Agapi Krizzalyn recently took to social media to warn fellow parents about a disturbing experience her child had after watching videos featuring the animated character.
In a Facebook post that has since gone viral, she shared that her 7-year-old son began acting unusually after watching the seemingly harmless videos, which are popular on platforms like TikTok and YouTube Shorts.
According to Agapi, her son abruptly woke up at 3:17 AM and began speaking strange words. When she asked what was happening, he said he heard a voice—belonging to “Sahur”—telling him to wake up. Alarmed by his behavior, Agapi immediately removed his screen time and decided to share the incident online to warn other parents.
She emphasized that not all content that looks child-friendly is truly safe. Her post received a flood of reactions and comments from netizens—many were either disturbed or thankful for the warning. Some even shared similar experiences, saying their children also showed unusual behavior after watching the same character. A few cases allegedly involved self-harm or aggression, raising further concern.
Meanwhile, “Tung Tung Tung Sahur” is a viral meme that began on TikTok in early 2025. It features an AI-generated wooden figure holding a bat, paired with an Indonesian voice repeating the phrase, mimicking drum sounds used to wake people for suhoor during Ramadan.
Created by TikTok user @noxaasht, the video quickly gained over 31 million views and became part of the “brainrot” meme trend—known for bizarre and absurd content. While many found it funny, some parents have expressed concern about its possible negative effects on children. Though it appears kid-friendly, some versions include unsettling visuals, leading to growing calls for parental caution.
