Press Officer of Malacañang Responds To “Politicking” Comment of VP Sara Duterte over PrimeWater Probe
MALACAÑANG – The Palace called on Vice President Sara Duterte to use reasons and data in her arguments than repeatedly accuse the government of politicking.
Amid Marcos’ Alyansa Para Sa Pagbabago endorsing the senatorial bid of Las Piñas Representative Camille Villar, the Palace recently expressed that Pres. Bongbong Marcos will order an investigation on the Villar-owned PrimeWater.

The statement of Malacañang came amid complaints from many people about the alleged insufficient water supply provided by the water company. The PrimeWater is just one of the many businesses of the Villars in the Philippines.

Palace press officer Atty. Claire Castro previously claimed that insufficiency of service has no room in the governance of Pres. Bongbong Marcos. While the Alyansa supports the probe on the Villar-owned PrimeWater, it clarified that Las Piñas Representative Camille Villar remains one of its senatorial bets.
Manny Villar’s daughter Camille is endorsed by both Pres. Bongbong Marcos and Vice Pres. Sara Duterte. She is the only senatorial candidate who has the support of both the Marcos administration and Vice Pres. Duterte. She is attempting to switch positions with their family’s matriarch, Senator Cynthia Villar who is running for Las Piñas representative in the May 2025 Elections.

If Camille Villar wins the senatorial race, she will join her brother, Sen. Mark Villar, in the Senate. Vice Pres. Sara Duterte previously claimed that her senatorial bets share a common vision of a peaceful and prosperous Philippines.
Recently, based on a report on Inquirer, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte claimed that the investigation on the PrimeWater is allegedly “mere politicking”. The statement of the Vice President earned a comment from Malacañang.

Atty. Claire Castro, the press officer of Malacañang, expressed the hope of the Palace that Vice Pres. Duterte will back her statements with reason and data. Based on the report, the Palace also hopes that there won’t be the use of negative words.
“Ang nais lang po muna sana natin kung anong pakikipag argumento o pakikipag diskusyon ng ating bise presidente, sana po ay i-level up natin, rason sa reason, datos sa datos. Huwag gamitan ng masasamang salita o pagmumura,” Castro expressed.
The Malacañang press officer denied that the PrimeWater probe is mere politicking. Palace press officer Atty. Claire Castro said that not all that the Marcos administration does is politicking. According to her, the government or the President has to do the job of responding to the sentiments of the people.
“So wala pong pamumulitika ito, hindi po lahat ng ginagawa ng admin para sa taong bayan ay pamumulitika, kailangan pong trabahuhin ang obligasyon ng gobyerno o Pangulo na tugunan ang hinaing ng taong bayan,” Castro said.
Amid the May 2025 Elections drawing near, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte called on the Filipinos not to vote for the candidates of Pres. Bongbong Marcos.
