Mom Claims Kindergarten Teacher Tied Up and Taped Her Daughter During Class
BATAAN — A mother from Samal went viral on Facebook after posting about the disturbing experience her young daughter allegedly had with a kindergarten teacher at a private preschool. In her post, Shaney Pepito shared that her 5-year-old daughter told her the teacher tied her hands and placed masking tape over her mouth during class.
According to Pepito, she only learned about the incident after noticing changes in her daughter’s behavior—such as refusing to go to school and showing signs of emotional distress. After speaking with other parents, she discovered similar accounts from past students who had traumatic experiences at the same school—some of whom are now in college but still remember the incident vividly.
In her emotional post, Pepito expressed how painful it was to discover what her daughter had gone through. She quoted her daughter asking, “Mommy yung Teacher ko ba sa grade 1 itatali din ako?”—a question that deeply affected her.

Pepito said she has already reported the case to the Department of Education (DepEd) in Balanga and also spoke with the school’s board of directors. However, she claimed that officials appeared hesitant to believe the children’s accounts. While some people advised her to forgive and move on, she insisted that the teacher should at least offer an apology.

She also said the experience has taken a toll on her daughter’s mental health. The child reportedly suffers from nightmares and separation anxiety, especially when her mother is not around. Pepito added that during her conversation with the school principal, she was told that the teacher had not been terminated—raising more concerns for her and other parents.

The case is now under investigation. Pepito remains determined to seek justice—not only for her daughter but for other children who may have gone through the same experience. According to DepEd Order No. 40, series of 2012 (Child Protection Policy), corporal punishment—including tying up a child—is strictly prohibited in all schools.
