Sen. Imee Marcos Speaks on Relationship with her Brother Pres. Bongbong
IMEE MARCOS – The Senator reacted to the claims that she sided with the Dutertes over her brother, President Bongbong Marcos.
The controversial arrest of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte caused political turmoil in the Philippine government. It has also created a huge wall between the supporters of the Dutertes and the Marcoses. Pres. Bongbong Marcos is being blamed over the arrest of the former President.

Duterte is currently detained in The Hague, Netherlands for more than a month now. Following his controversial arrest, Sen. Imee Marcos left the Alyansa Para Sa Pagbabago backed by her brother, Pres. Bongbong Marcos.

Sen. Marcos first skipped the Tacloban and Cavite campaign sorties of the grand alliance before she officialized her departure from the team. According to the presidential sister, the actions of the government do not align with her ideals and principles in life.

Pres. Bongbong Marcos changed the chant of the Alyansa following Senator Imee’s departure from the team. The recent actions of the Senator elicited different reactions from the people. Undeniably, there are those who question her sincerity like former presidential legal counsel Salvador Panelo and there are also those who criticized her for siding with the Dutertes over her own family.
Recently, based on a post on social media, Sen. Imee Marcos was asked about her reaction to the people who say that it is not good that she sided with the Dutertes over her own brother, Pres. Bongbong Marcos. The Senator admitted that she feels bad about it but stressed that she and the President have never fought.
“Masamang-masama ang loob ko ngunit ang akin lamang, kailanman hindi kami nag-away ng aking kapatid. ‘Yung mga amuyong sa Palasyo, ‘yung mga nariyan, ‘yung mga lolong, eh ‘yun, sila, sila po ang aking kaaway,” the Senator said based on the post.
The senatorial candidacy of Senator Imee is backed by Vice Pres. Sara Duterte. In a campaign sortie, the Vice President joked on her to change her last name. Sen. Imee Marcos recently reacted to the remarks of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte.
