ACT-CIS Rep. Erwin Tulfo Speaks on Political Dynasty in PH
ERWIN TULFO – The presumptive Senator vowed to support the Anti-Political Dynasty Bill and to resign if it will be passed into law.
Both local and national elections were held during the recent May 2025 Midterm Polls. Now that the elections are over, the winners in the local elections in the different provinces, cities, and municipalities around the country have already been proclaimed. The counting of votes for the senatorial race is ongoing.

Prior to the elections, senatorial candidates Erwin Tulfo and Bong Go led the 2025 Senatorial Race survey. Tulfo’s brother, Ben Tulfo, also ran for senator in the recent midterm polls. Erwin is one of the senatorial candidates endorsed by Pres. Bongbong Marcos’ Alyansa Para Sa Pagbabago while Ben ran as an independent candidate.

Currently, 97.37% of the election returns have been transmitted. Based on the partial and unofficial results, ACT-CIS Rep. is one of the senatorial candidates who made it to the Top 12. Six (6) candidates from the Alyansa Para Sa Pagbabago made it to the Top 12. Here are the Top 12 senatorial candidates with the highest votes amid the ongoing counting:

The election win of presumptive senator Erwin Tulfo will make him join his brother, Sen. Raffy Tulfo, in the Senate. Amid the issue of political dynasty in the Philippines as more and more people coming from the same families join politics, the ACT-CIS Representative said he will be supporting the bill against political dynasty. Based on a report on Inquirer, Tulfo said someone already planned to author it.
“I will be supporting [it]. Someone already planned to file it. It will only be repetitive if I lodge a similar measure,” he said.
According to presumptive Sen. Erwin Tulfo, he is willing to be a co-author of the bill against political dynasty. Based on the report, he is ready to resign once the bill is passed into law.
“If need be, I will co-author, and if passed, I will resign,” Tulfo said.
Recently, amid several of her family members winning in the elections for the different government positions in Davao City, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte said she will support the anti-political dynasty law and is even willing to author it.
