CHIZ ESCUDERO – The Senate President expressed his support on the call of Pres. Bongbong Marcos to unite in addressing the needs of the people.
Pres. Bongbong Marcos and Vice Pres. Sara Duterte campaigned fervently for their respective senatorial slates in the 2025 Midterm Elections. Then former senators Kiko Pangilinan and Bam Aquino campaigned together in their bid for a Senate comeback.

Former Vice Pres. Leni Robredo backed the senatorial bids of now newly-elected senators Kiko Pangilinan and Bam Aquino. Pres. Bongbong Marcos endorsed the senatorial bets of the Alyansa Para Sa Pagbabago.

Vice Pres. Sara Duterte campaigned for reelected Sen. Imee Marcos, newly-elected Sen. Camille Villar, and the PDP-Laban bets. Villar was endorsed by both Pres. Marcos and Vice Pres. Duterte.

In the 2025 Election results, six (6) candidates from the Alyansa made it to the Top 12 while five (5) candidates endorsed by Vice Pres. Sara Duterte won in the elections. Opposition lawmakers Bam Aquino and Kiko Pangilinan placed second and fifth in the ranking, respectively.
Now that the 2025 Midterm Elections are over, Pres. Bongbong Marcos extended his hand to the winners regardless of which “color” they came from. Recently, the President also aired his realizations from the outcome of the polls.

Pres. Bongbong Marcos admitted that he realized from the 2025 Election results that the Filipino people are tired of politicking. He stressed that the people are calling on the government to prioritize them. According to him, the outcome of the polls also showed that the Filipinos are disappointed by the service of the government.
Recently, Senate Pres. Chiz Escudero reacted to the statement of Pres. Bongbong Marcos. Based on a report on Inquirer, the Senate Chief said he appreciates the humility of the President to admit that the outcome of the recent elections show that the people are weary of conflict in the government.

“The President’s message is clear: now is the time to build bridges, not burn them. We owe it to our people to rise above division and do better—together—for the sake of our nation,” he said.
Based on the report, Senate Pres. Chiz Escudero also expressed his support on the call of Pres. Bongbong Marcos to set aside politics and work for the needs of the Filipinos. He stressed that many Filipinos are struggling.
“I agree with President Bongbong Marcos’ call to set aside politics and focus on the needs of our countrymen. He is right; our country’s leaders cannot afford to be consumed by politics when so many of our countrymen struggle simply to make ends meet,” the Senate President said.
It is no secret to the Filipino people that the two (2) highest officials in the government and their clans are not in good terms. Recently, Pres. Bongbong Marcos claimed that he is open to reconcile with the Duterte family.
