Pres. Bongbong Marcos Speaks on Reconciliation with Conditions
BONGBONG MARCOS – The President stressed that reconciliation should not have conditions or it only means making demands.
The ongoing feud between the Marcoses and the Dutertes has divided the Filipino people. The once-united BBM-Sara supporters were left in faction following the arrest of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte wherein the current President is blamed for allowing it.

Malacañang and Marcos Jr. stressed that the government only acted on its commitment with the International Criminal Police Organization or Interpol over Duterte’s arrest. Pres. Marcos Jr. is also being accused of wanting to remove Vice Pres. Duterte from office.

Pres. Bongbong Marcos stressed that the impeachment trial of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte is up to the Senate. Malacañang also previously emphasized that the Chief Executive will not meddle with the incoming impeachment trial.

Recently, following the outcome of the 2025 Midterm Elections, Pres. Bongbong Marcos claimed he is open to reconcile with the Duterte family. Malacañang was quick to clarify that Marcos Jr.’s reconciliation remark is not limited to the Dutertes and he won’t allow to be controlled over it.
Following the remarks of the Chief Executive, Duterte allies reelected senators Bong Go and Bato dela Rosa expressed their reactions. According to Go, Marcos Jr. should bring the former President home first.
Reelected Sen. Bato dela Rosa claimed that Pres. Bongbong Marcos must deport the “ICC investigators” who are allegedly in the country and forcing the police to testify against him and Duterte if he is really sincere over his reconciliation remarks. Recently, the Chief Executive reacted to “conditions” for reconciliation.
Based on a report on GMA News, Pres. Bongbong Marcos stressed that there must be no conditions for reconciliation. According to him, if there is, it is making demands and not reconciling.
“No, no, no, no, no, no. No. That’s not how reconciliation works. You don’t put conditions to reconcile,” Marcos said.
When asked how far he is willing to go for reconciliation, the President said he does not know depending on what will come up and what is needed. Recently, it was reported that Marcos Jr.’s trust rating increased while Duterte’s declined.
