Benhur Abalos Thanks Vice Ganda for Endorsement

Vice Ganda Backs Benhur Abalos for Senate

BENHUR ABALOS – The senatorial candidate expressed his gratitude after receiving an endorsement from popular TV host and comedian Vice Ganda. According to Abalos, Vice Ganda’s support is especially meaningful because he is known to be very selective and careful in endorsing political candidates.

Vice Ganda publicly showed his support through a short video posted on his official Facebook page on Saturday, May 3. The post was captioned, “Kesa naman ‘yong mga walang kuwenta ang pumasok sa Top 12, dito na ako #1 Abalos, Benhur.” The post quickly gained attention from the public and fans alike.

In a media interview on Monday, May 5, Abalos shared how significant the endorsement was, especially with only a few days left before the campaign period ends. He noted that Vice Ganda has millions of followers and is known for not endorsing just anyone. “Ang laking bagay na endorsement yun,” Abalos said, emphasizing that Vice’s support was timely and meaningful.

Benhur Abalos is part of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s senatorial slate. The 2025 midterm elections are scheduled for May 12, and endorsements like this could have a strong impact in the final days leading up to the polls.

Meanwhile, Benjamin “Benhur” de Castro Abalos Jr. is a seasoned public servant and lawyer, known for his extensive experience in both local and national government roles. He is the son of Benjamin Abalos Sr., a former mayor of Mandaluyong and chairman of the Commission on Elections.

Abalos began his political career as a city councilor in Mandaluyong in 1995. He then served as the city’s mayor from 1998 to 2004 and again from 2007 to 2016. Between his mayoral terms, he represented Mandaluyong in the House of Representatives from 2004 to 2007. In 2021, he was appointed chairman of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), and in 2022, he became the Secretary of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) under President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s administration.
