Nora Aunor Remembered Through a Special Bread
KAMUNING BAKERY – One of Quezon City’s oldest and most iconic bakeries is set to honor the late National Artist and Superstar Nora Aunor with a special bread called “Pan de Nora.” The tribute will take place on May 21, which would have been Aunor’s 72nd birthday.
The announcement was made by bakery owner and historian Wilson Lee Flores through a social media post. According to Flores, “Pan de Nora” is more than just a baked treat — it’s a heartfelt tribute to Aunor, whose life and work touched the hearts of millions of Filipinos. Kamuning Bakery, now 86 years old, has a tradition of paying tribute to great Filipino artists. This time, it celebrates the legacy of a woman whose contributions to film and culture continue to inspire.

Some of her most notable films include Himala (1982), Bulaklak sa City Jail (1984), and The Flor Contemplacion Story (1995).

Throughout her career, Aunor earned numerous awards for her outstanding performances, including Best Actress honors from both Gawad Urian and FAMAS for Tatlong Taong Walang Diyos. She is survived by her son Ian, with her former husband, actor Christopher de Leon, and four adopted children — Lotlot, Matet, Kiko, and Kenneth.
