ANDRES³ – A recent board exam passer’s name has captured the attention of social media users for its amusing uniqueness.

Among the 4,137 successful candidates out of 6,741 takers (61.37% passing rate) in the April 2025 Registered Electrical Engineering Licensure Examination, one name stood out—Andres Andres Andres, humorously dubbed by netizens as “Andres³.”

Listed as the 254th passer, his name sparked laughter and lighthearted comments online. Many joked that his parents either got too creative or ran out of ideas, while others found the triple name oddly charming and unforgettable. Some even said it was both funny and efficient—just one name to remember, repeated three times. Regardless, many warmly congratulated him with: “Congrats, Engr. (Andres)³!”

Meanwhile, the April 2025 Registered Electrical Engineers Licensure Examination, conducted by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), had 4,137 passers out of 6,741 examinees, resulting in a passing rate of 61.37%. This exam marks a significant milestone for aspiring electrical engineers across the country.

Raymond Omboy Geoman from Cebu Institute of Technology – University topped the list with an outstanding score of 95.00%. He was followed by Mark Angelo Alba Oppus of Polytechnic University of the Philippines – Main Sta. Mesa with 94.40%, and John Glenn Madrid Jacob of University of Cebu – Lapulapu & Mandaue with 94.10%. Among schools with 50 or more examinees, the University of Batangas emerged as the top-performing institution, with an impressive 96.20% passing rate.

On the other hand, the Registered Master Electricians Licensure Exam, also held in April 2025, had 629 passers out of 1,220 takers. Mariclaire Baingan Larugal from Isabela State University – Ilagan topped that exam with a rating of 92.5%. These results highlight the hard work of examinees and the strong academic support provided by their schools. The PRC continues to uphold strict standards to ensure that licensed electrical professionals in the Philippines are highly competent.
