Wendell Ramos Steps Back from Candidacy for Councilor
WENDELL RAMOS – The actor has decided to withdraw from his candidacy for councilor in the upcoming May 12, 2025 elections. Initially running for a councilor position in District 4 of Sampaloc, Manila, Wendell chose to step back from the race due to his work and family obligations.
In a Facebook post, Wendell explained that after careful thought and discussions with his family, manager, and network, he made the tough decision to withdraw from his campaign. He cited prior work commitments and family matters as the primary reasons for his decision.
I have made the difficult decision to discontinue my campaign due to prior work commitments and family matters,” Wendell wrote. He also revealed that he formally filed his withdrawal with the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) on January 31, 2025.

The actor expressed his gratitude to the people who supported him throughout the process. “I am deeply grateful to everyone who supported me, welcomed me, and believed in my programs even before I filed my withdrawal. Your trust and encouragement mean more than words can express. Thank you for your understanding and continued support,” he said.

Wendell had originally filed his certificate of candidacy (COC) on October 5, 2024, and had been seen campaigning alongside mayoral candidate Sam Versoza in Manila. Currently, Wendell is part of the Kapuso action series “Lolong: Pangil ng Maynila,” starring Ruru Madrid.
Meanwhile, Wendell Ramos is an actor known for his roles in the GMA Network comedy show Bubble Gang and youth-oriented program Click. He gained fame with roles in series like Sinasamba Kita, La Vendetta, and Ako si Kim Samsoon. Wendell has also appeared in several films, earning awards such as the Gawad Urian Award for Best Supporting Actor in 2005 for Sabel. He has modeled for Bench and worked with networks like TV5 and ABS-CBN, before returning to GMA.
