Snatcher Robs PWD Cyclist, Elicits Online Criticism

ROBBERY – A snatcher received heavy criticism online after stealing from a person with a disability (PWD) cyclist.

Recently, Joel David, a Facebook user, warned the public about the snatching incident that took place along Airport Road. The post quickly spread like wildfire on social media and elicited comments from netizens.

According to the post, the victim was a PWD cyclist whose belt bag was taken. The bag contained his wallet and cellphone, both of which were essential for his daily needs.

The snatching happened near Unida Extension and Lt. Garcia Extension, a spot that has reportedly seen similar incidents in recent days. Just a day before, another victim, a woman who had just gotten off a jeepney was also targeted in the same area.

According to the post, the snatchers operate by spotting a target, grabbing their belongings, and quickly escaping on an e-bike driven by an accomplice waiting nearby. The quick and sneaky approach makes it hard for victims to respond in time.

Fortunately, the PWD was able to ask for help from police officers who were with a team from Meralco in the area. They immediately responded and assisted the victim, though the suspect had already fled.
