Vice Pres. Sara Duterte Speaks on her Lawyers for her Impeachment Case
SARA DUTERTE’S LAWYERS – The Vice President claimed that her legal team is “more than confident” to win the impeachment trial.
Last February 5, the House of Representatives impeached Vice Pres. Duterte. More than 2/3 of the lawmakers in the lower chamber approved the impeachment of the Vice President. She is surrounded by several issues including the questions on how she spent the Confidential Funds of the Office of the Vice President (OVP) and the Department of Education (DepEd).
Previously, amid the case of former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte in the International Criminal Court, Senate Pres. Chiz Escudero said that Vice Pres. Sara Duterte’s impeachment trial will proceed. The Vice President stayed in The Hague, Netherlands for more than three (3) weeks for her father.
Vice Pres. Duterte set the ICC legal team of former Pres. Duterte. According to her, she has set her legal team before the arrest of former Pres. Duterte last March 11. Vice Pres. Sara Duterte’s lawyers will supposedly include former Pres. Duterte.
It was early this month when Vice Pres. Sara Duterte returned to the Philippines from Netherlands after more than three (3) weeks of stay abroad. The arrest of her father earned Pres. Bongbong Marcos and the Philippine government criticisms and intense bashing from the netizens.
Recently, Vice Pres. Duterte visited Cebu. Based on a report on GMA News, her visit in the huge province is in the pursuit of thanking the supporters of her family there. The media had a chance to have a quick interview with her wherein Vice Pres. Sara Duterte’s lawyers were mentioned.
Based on the report, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte’s lawyers are confident that they will win the case. On her part, she is confident because of her legal team.
“Ang aking impeachment, sinasabi ng mga lawyers, they are more than confident na mananalo sila sa impeachment. Ako naman, I am most confident with the lawyers working on my impeachment case,” the Vice President said.
Previously, Davao City Mayor Baste Duterte has also expressed his confidence on Vice Pres. Sara Duterte’s lawyers. Mayor Baste Duterte claimed that they are ready to “fight them” with regards to VP Sara’s impeachment issue.
